Award Interview with Lady Java

Best Diarist Blog

Introducing BlogNet Awards Winner: Lady Java

Thanks  LadyJava for accepting our invitation to do this interview for BlogNet Awards.  You have been a wonderful source of support to so many people that we know our readers both new and old  are going to enjoy your thoughts about blogging and just getting to know you better.

BNA:
How long have you been blogging and what prompted you to start?

Lady Java:
I’m just another face in the crowd. LoL :) I was born in Singapore. Lived life as any typical Singaporean would and worked as a Executive Assistant in a management consultancy firm  I then fell in love with a Malaysian. Got married in 2000 and moved to Malaysia. As much as I loved working, I can’t work in Malaysia as I am not a permanent resident and only here on extended social visit visa which makes it illegal for me to work.
I’ve always loved the internet. In fact that was how I met my husband – through one of yahoo chat room! I started blogging in 2006. Initially I started a blog because I wanted a place that I can put down all my referral links to all the paying programs that I was a member of. Then as I visit more and more blogs and make more and more blogger friends, I thought it would be fun to have a personal blog too.. one blog lead to another and now I have more than 6 blogs.. at last count :)

BNA:
How did you decide on the topics for your blogs (we know you have more than one – “who doesn’t? lol). Did you do any research, or did you just feel that these would be good topics to pursue?

Lady Java:
My blogs are a part of me so I write mostly about what I know. like my cats, being woman, food and even making money online. I write for me. I always enjoyed writing in my diary when I was growing up and so my blogs are like my diary as well. I believe you should write for yourself so even if you don’t have readers.. you won’t mind and still continue writing :)

BNA:
As far as your theme and any programming done to your blogs. Do you do your own work, and do you ever outsource?

Lady Java:
I pick my own themes and do the designs for my own blogs. I own an online business that deals with blog makeover and designing services. You can view my work at LadyJava Creations at
Lady Java Creations

BNA:
So many people struggle with “monitization” on their blogs, and seem to be afraid to even talk about it. What’s your strategy?

Lady Java:
Strategy? None really. I just try out any new sites that are available and if they work.. good. if not.. then it’s on the next program and YES.. I do paid post! I Have  fun blogging..and anything after that is bonus.

BNA:
Who are your favorite two or three bloggers and why?

Lady Java:
I have so many favourite bloggers.. but if I have to pick two ..One of them is Mariuca of Mariuca -Wishing on a Falling Star. She has three wonderful blogs and she writes beautifully. My other favourite blogger would have to be Shemah of My Sweet Escape. She has three blogs as well or is it four? LOL!! Her blogs are all so entertaining!

BNA:
Last question. What advice would you give to new bloggers coming onto the scene?

Lady Java:
Blog because you enjoy blogging. Don’t do it for anyone else.Do it for YOU. So don’t worry about traffic.. don’t worry if no one reads your post. and don’t worry if you are not earning from it! Just ENJOY it! and the rest would come naturally :)
