I Love/Hate America
By admin on Nov 12, 2008 in Best Inspirational Blog
I Love/Hate America has been nominated for Best Inspirational Blog. While the title may be unusual for this category, once you understand the meaning and the description of this blog site, it will all become clear.
As the BlogNet Awards team reviewed this site we found out that the blogger was born, bred and educated in a tiny island nation in the Pacific. As she has said on her site ” This is an Immigrant’s Love-Hate Relationship with all things American. Not necessarily things I hate but things I find appalling, disgusting, scary, uncomfortable and unlikeable. The right words to describe the way I relate myself with America are just either I love it or I dislike it. Although “Hate” is not the most apt term to use but it’s the opposite of “Love”. Don’t be intimidated by the intensity of the word. This is more of a commentary on the American way of life as seen through the eyes of a foreigner.” We found many posts that were serious in thought, humorous, and some that were truly inspirational.

The author of this site has called my attention because of the way she describes her feelings about an immigrant in America. Love it or Hate it, she writes honest views and I never get tired of reading her articles as they are truly inspirational..

Truth be told, the author and I weren’t introduced formally albeit our family knows each other. Bingkee writes truthfully with frankness and passion that drives me and the rest of her readers glued to our chairs as we read one blog after the other leaving us inspired to live life and just be who we are.

Bingkee, author of I Love/Hate America, is a very talented writer who writes from the heart. What she writes is “real,” reflecting the ups and downs of life. The fact that after only 4 months she has developed such a large following is testimony to both Bingkee as a person and her skills of composing at the keyboard.

An unusual and very personal take on American life. A very joyful approach to religion, and an unstoppable curiosity. This blog is a lot of fun to read, and the inspirational posts are neither cloying nor sentimental. I usually come away with something to think about. Nicely done.

Bingkee is disarming in her open exploration of what it’s like to be exotic in America. The language and cultural misadventures and misunderstandings she reports, juxtaposed with her charming intelligence and the love in her heart make for a comforting read that brings me smiles on a regular basis.

I Love/Hate America is awesome!
Living in America can be tough for an American born person, you can only imagine how it is for foreigners. Bingkee adds her own little twist with wit and humor describing the everyday struggles of day to day life in America.
True class in every sense of the word!

Bingkee’s blog is a wonderful example of how people can communicate and share their personal take on life the way they experience it. A person can only be considered open-minded as far as good as their ability to listen to others and see the world through their eyes. I have only been subscribed to Bingkee’s blog a few weeks but I feel I have known her for years. She speaks for many people and from other cultures too (like me) and she is not afraid of voicing her honest opinion. She is very talented in writing and expressing herself wonderfully. A sensitive person who I feel fortunate to have ‘met’. The best of what blogging has to offer!

The site should fall into the personal blog category, not sure how much it qualifies as an inspirational blog, most posts are not applicable to inspiration.
