The Giving Tree Project 2009
By admin on Mar 3, 2009 in Best Charity Blog
The blog site ” The Giving Tree Project 2009” has been nominated for the Best Charity Blog category. Lola’s Diner who nominated this site has given this very thorough description of this site ” The blog’s owner, Michelle was inspired by her all time favorite children’s book by Shel Silverstein, The Giving Tree, she chronicles her thoughts and observations as she embarks on 365 days of giving.
This is not meant to be an account of the things she does or gives. She is not looking for credit or accolades, but instead wants to highlight the simple blessings that are reaped along the way. The tree didn’t give everything he had to the boy because he wanted something in return, he gave everything because he was happy to see the joy in the boy!”
Want to be inspired? The BlogNet awards team certainly was. The blog author, who simply goes by Michelle, was inspired by her favorite childhood book, Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree, to give in some way every day in 2009 for the simple joy of giving joy, and she is sharing her experience with us. Reputable, hard-working charities ranging from Samaritan’s Purse to Ronald McDonald House, The Dave Thomas Foundation, and Red for Women have already been among her lucky “victims.” The blog is touching. She so deftly pulls those around her into her contagious spirit of giving that I’m not sure they know they aren’t the recipients, and who knows? Maybe they are. Dare you to read it!
